These Terms govern use of Echoes of Eidolon and the related website, account, beta, membership, support, and Store experiences operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], doing business as Eidolon Gaming. They explain who may participate, how accounts and paid transactions work, how AI-mediated interactions differ from authored canon, what conduct is required, and how disputes and service changes are handled. Transaction-specific policies may add more detailed terms and control their specific subject, but they do not remove rights that applicable law requires.

- What changed / version notes
1. Agreement and scope
By creating an account, accepting an invitation, participating in Echoes of Eidolon, purchasing merchandise, starting a subscription, making a qualifying support contribution, or otherwise using a feature that presents these Terms for acceptance, you agree to these Terms and the policies incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the affected feature.
These Terms apply to Echoes of Eidolon, its branching and multiple-story game experience, related account services, beta participation, optional membership, support tools, and Eidolon Gaming Store experiences. A more specific policy controls a specific transaction or feature where it addresses the same issue more precisely, subject always to mandatory law.
2. Who may participate
Standard participation is for people age 18 or older. A person age 14 through 17 may participate only with valid permission from a parent or legal guardian using the consent process made available for the participant's supported jurisdiction. A person under 14 is not eligible to participate.
Ordinary signup is designed not to request or store a date of birth or exact numeric age. We may instead record the minimum eligibility state needed to establish that the participant is either an adult 18+ or a 14–17 participant with valid guardian-consent evidence. We may require a reasonable consent or verification procedure appropriate to a supported jurisdiction, but these Terms do not authorize collection of government identification, biometrics, or other verification methods that have not been separately adopted and disclosed.
If required guardian permission is missing, withdrawn, invalid, or cannot reasonably be verified, the minor participant may not use the participating game experience.
3. Accounts and account security
You must provide information that is accurate enough for the service you use, keep account credentials confidential, and promptly report suspected compromise. You are responsible for activity performed through your account to the extent allowed by law, except activity caused by Eidolon Gaming's own security failure or another circumstance for which applicable law places responsibility elsewhere.
Do not share passwords, access tokens, recovery codes, or authentication secrets through ordinary support or contact forms. Player/account/gameplay support is available at /account/support. Signed-out users seeking Player Support should sign in and return to /account/support.
4. Beta invitations and access
Beta participation is invite-only. An invitation may be limited, discretionary, and non-transferable unless the invitation expressly states otherwise. A donation, support contribution, merchandise purchase, or subscription does not purchase an invitation, beta admission, access priority, or a fast-track to admission.
Beta software and content may change, reset, be unavailable, or behave unexpectedly. Unless a more specific product promise expressly says otherwise, beta progression, feature availability, and data are not guaranteed to survive a reset or transition. Paid transactional obligations, approved refunds, and other remedies required by law remain applicable during beta. See the Beta and Invitation Participation Terms for the detailed rules.
5. Public commitments
Eidolon Gaming makes the following public commitments for Echoes of Eidolon:
- A subscription will never be required.
- never pay-to-win
- never sell you
- never waste your time
These statements are preserved as product commitments. They do not erase the detailed conditions of a transaction, create an entitlement to a particular mutable perk, or override rights and obligations stated more precisely in the applicable legal policy.
6. Player conduct and fair use of the service
You must follow the Acceptable Use and Player Conduct policy. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, threats, sexual exploitation, fraud, impersonation, malicious automation, cheating or exploit abuse, account compromise, security abuse, illegal activity, and attempts to extract credentials, hidden system prompts, unreleased secrets, or other protected system information.
Echoes of Eidolon contains fictional people, institutions, beliefs, conflicts, and viewpoints. You are not required to agree with a fictional character, faction, story position, or generated statement. Fictional disagreement is not itself misconduct; abusive conduct toward real people or misuse of the service can be.
7. Service availability and changes
Echoes of Eidolon is an evolving service. Features, balancing, content, models, interfaces, availability, supported devices, and beta systems may change. We may perform maintenance, address security issues, remove unlawful content, or modify features for reliability, accessibility, safety, legal compliance, or product development.
Where applicable law or a paid commitment requires notice, we will provide appropriate notice before a material adverse change. Changes do not retroactively remove already-earned rights, completed refunds, or mandatory legal protections. We do not promise uninterrupted service, permanent availability of a particular mutable feature, or perpetual preservation of beta state unless an express written promise says otherwise.
8. Membership and subscriptions
Membership is an entitlement, not an administrator, moderator, owner, invitation, or authorization role. Subscription is optional. The 0.2.0 subscription price is $9.99 per calendar month and recurring payments are processed through Stripe.
A Member month follows calendar-month semantics rather than a fixed 30-day period. Stacking preserves the original anchor day where possible; if a target month lacks that day, the boundary clamps to that month's last valid day and restores the original anchor day in a later month where possible. memberThrough is an exclusive boundary. Donation-earned and subscription-earned Member time use the same month semantics.
Current perks may change. The currently configured voice interaction window is 15 seconds for ordinary participation and 30 seconds for Members; text is not limited by that perk. Those current values are not a perpetual guaranteed entitlement unless a paid period expressly promises otherwise. See the Membership and Subscription Terms for billing, cancellation, renewal, and price-change details.
9. Support contributions and donations
Eligible authenticated participants may make voluntary support contributions through Stripe. A signed-out visitor may read the Donate page but cannot complete a support payment. For version 0.2.0, each qualifying contribution must be at least $10.00 and no more than $100.00.
Support can create Member-month entitlement according to the Donations and Perks Terms, but it never purchases admission, an invitation, access priority, or gameplay advantage. We do not represent a contribution as tax-deductible unless verified legal and tax status expressly allows that statement. Refunds or payment reversals can reduce unconsumed Member entitlement while preserving already-consumed historical Member time and the audit history of the original grant.
10. Store purchases
The Store sells physical merchandise, initially including configured variants of posters, mugs, and hoodies. Guest checkout is allowed; signing in may be recommended for order history but is not required to purchase merchandise. Product and variant availability depends on current configuration and provider availability and is not guaranteed until an order reaches the configured acceptance point.
Stripe is the payment provider. Printful is a fulfillment provider and is not presented as the seller or payment processor. Payment must be confirmed before fulfillment is released. Merchandise purchases do not affect game progression. Store-specific shipping, cancellation, return, replacement, and refund rules are in the Store Terms of Sale, Shipping and Fulfillment Policy, and Returns, Refunds, and Cancellation Policy.
11. Payments and payment providers
Stripe is the sole payment provider for merchandise, subscriptions, donations or support contributions, receipts, saved payment methods where enabled, and refunds. Payment success, failure, and refund status are determined by server-side and provider-authoritative records rather than a browser-only success message.
Eidolon Gaming does not treat raw payment-card credentials as ordinary application data. Stripe may process payment details and, where enabled and consented to as required, saved payment methods. Printful performs fulfillment for physical merchandise and does not process customer payment on Eidolon Gaming's behalf as the seller.
12. AI-mediated interaction
Echoes of Eidolon uses AI-mediated fictional characters and systems. Generated dialogue is probabilistic and can be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, unexpected, or wrong, including when discussing historical or cultural material. Generated dialogue is not automatically the same thing as authored canon or database truth.
Player interaction content is transmitted to OpenAI where needed to provide AI-powered interaction. Eidolon Gaming's application policy is not to intentionally persist raw player conversation text or raw AI response text as ordinary gameplay history, ordinary logs, analytics events, error traces, or support traces. The game may persist the minimum structured gameplay state derived from interaction when required for progression or operation. OpenAI's provider-side processing and retention are separate from Eidolon Gaming's application retention. See the AI, Automated Interaction, and Player Content Disclosure and Privacy Policy.
13. Player inputs and content
You retain ownership of rights you already hold in material you submit. You grant Eidolon Gaming a limited, non-exclusive license to receive, process, transmit, display to you, moderate where required, and otherwise use submitted material only as reasonably necessary to operate the requested feature, provide support, protect the service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license does not transfer ownership of unrelated pre-existing material to Eidolon Gaming.
Do not submit material you lack the right to provide. Do not include unnecessary passwords, payment-card data, access tokens, recovery codes, government identification, or other sensitive information in ordinary game, support, or contact inputs.
14. Intellectual property and cultural material
Eidolon Gaming and its licensors retain their rights in original Echoes of Eidolon software, fictional setting additions, artwork, text, audio, trademarks, and other protected material. Those rights do not create ownership of public-domain history, cultural heritage, cultures, traditions, languages, folklore, or communities merely because the game researches or adapts them.
Echoes of Eidolon draws on real cultures, histories, traditions, languages, objects, music, architecture, folklore, historical events, and scholarship. Use in fiction does not mean Eidolon Gaming originated, owns, controls, or speaks for a culture or community. Research can be incomplete, contested, mistranslated, outdated, unreliable, or wrong. See the Intellectual Property and Fan Content Policy and the Cultural Use, Attribution, and Research Corrections Policy.
15. Privacy and retention
The Privacy Policy describes categories of personal data, processing purposes, service providers, retention, rights, and choices. In particular, ordinary signup is designed to minimize age data, and raw AI/player conversation text is not intentionally persisted by the Eidolon application as ordinary gameplay history. Sanitized transient operational logs target approximately 30 days, while durable categories such as accounts, security records, orders, payments, refunds, subscriptions, support tickets, privacy requests, and accounting records may be retained longer according to purpose and applicable obligations.
16. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a material violation of these Terms, security risk, fraud, unlawful activity, abuse, compromised account, or legal requirement. Where appropriate and not unsafe or prohibited, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue. Serious or urgent abuse may require immediate action.
Termination of game access does not erase payment obligations already incurred, approved refunds, mandatory consumer rights, privacy rights, or records that must be retained for legal, security, accounting, or audit purposes. If a review or appeal path is available for a moderation decision, it will be described in the relevant notice or support process.
17. Disclaimers
Echoes of Eidolon is a fictional, evolving, AI-assisted entertainment experience. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without a promise that every generated statement will be accurate, that every feature will remain unchanged, that beta state will persist, or that service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Historical or cultural material may contain mistakes despite good-faith research and correction efforts.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or obligations that applicable law does not permit us to exclude. Nothing generated by the game should be relied on as legal, medical, financial, tax, or other professional advice.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eidolon Gaming will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable from the relevant breach. Any contractual monetary cap that applies to claims under these Terms is: [LIABILITY CAP].
This section does not limit liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability that applicable law requires to remain available. It also does not reduce specific refund, replacement, privacy, consumer, or other remedies stated in a transaction-specific policy or required by law.
19. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for third-party claims and reasonable resulting costs caused by your intentional unlawful conduct, fraud, infringement through material you supplied without authorization, or material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not require you to indemnify Eidolon Gaming for its own negligence, unlawful conduct, or matters for which applicable law does not permit indemnification. We will provide reasonable notice and allow reasonable participation in the defense where appropriate.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service changes, legal requirements, security needs, or clearer drafting. If a change materially affects existing rights or obligations, we will provide notice in the manner required by applicable law and, where required, obtain renewed agreement. A later version does not retroactively take away a completed transaction remedy or other right that already accrued.
21. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW], without overriding mandatory protections that apply because of where a user lives. Subject to any non-waivable consumer forum rights, disputes may be brought in [COURT VENUE]. No arbitration requirement or class-action waiver is created by this version of the Terms.

24. What changed / version notes
Version 0.2.0 is the initial owner-approved consolidated public Terms text for this legal set. Owner approval of this text does not itself state that the Terms have been published, deployed, filed, or made effective.
