Disruptions

Misinformation, malfunction, suppression, and deterministic information.

TYPEDESCRIPTION
MISINFORMATIONA corruption side effect that forces the STORYTELLER to return FALSE information
MALFUNCTIONINGA corruption side effect that forces all abilities to MALFUNCTION
SUPRESSIONA civic action that causes all connections into that district to be locked.
  • When an ability MALFUNCTIONS we say it FIZZLES
  • FAILING and MALFUNCTIONING are two seperate concepts
  • When an ability reads FALSE information we say it MISINFORMED but it did not FIZZLE
  • FIZZLED abilitys return no OBSERVATIONS
  • ACTIONS = outgoing abilities; OBSERVATIONS = incoming information - both can be disrupted
  • An ability that is DEFLECTED for example, did not MALFUNCTION it just FAILED
  • A district with no open connections is MALFUNCTIONING until an open connection can be made
All information is deterministic. In the description we will be clear about how that particular ability handles FALSE information. It's part of the puzzle to put together. You can reason an entire game with MISINFORMATION if you can work out why and how you're being MISINFORMED.
